Am I Just Being Arrogant?
I checked my email today to see if anyone had remembered me. No one had apart from the usual single ladies who never seem to get the point that I am not interested in having a serious relationship with them. At first I thought if I signed my emails ’sincerely’ instead of ‘yours’, it would make a difference. No way! They still ’super glue.’ Now, I have decided I won’t reply to any of their emails or text messages. I had to throw away my mobile phone for the same reason. Whoever needs to see me knows where to find me.
It becomes worse when I go out with a lady and she expects me to be alone with her all the time. I love spending time with friends. Like when they come over to my house to watch a movie or do practice for our musical group. Sometimes they just come to chat or take me out for a party. My house is always full of people and most of them are friends both male and female and if a lady I am seeing does not get along with them, too bad for her. After all, there are a lot of fish in the sea. You see what I mean?
We all share the household chores but cooking is mostly done by the ladies. Sometimes my sisters and brothers join my friends and I during their holidays. There are times my Dad and step mom come and stay over and they are used to most of my friends as they have seen them growing up with me from way back when we were still in High School.
Every time I am not seeing someone, I always seem to be happier. I resent the idea of going out with a lady for some time and then the marriage issue comes up. Why do ladies like marriage? With all the misery and suffering I see my married friends going through, why would anyone die to get married? Some of them go as far as trying to invite me to meet their parents in the hope that this will help me quicken my decision to settle down. Others keep throwing hints in their conversations about their friends who are getting married.
I hate it when ladies begin comparing me with some of their male friends. ‘Chris, why can’t you be like Eric?’ I am not him. If you want Eric, then go ahead and marry him. See if I care.
Why should I rush to settle down when I can still have fun with my beautiful women out there? With some, I don’t even have to struggle. I have people who can cook and wash my clothes free of charge so what is the big deal? If I want children, I can get one with any of my lady friends and be a father. I mean, really. What is the big deal about marriage?
Why should I introduce a lady as my girlfriend and risk losing other potential girlfriends? Whoever I go out with is introduced as a friend. ‘Girlfriend’ creates unnecessary complications especially when you fail to commit yourself to a serious relationship.

Tandra, I am so sorry. I have been trying to figure out how to stop moderation so that everyone can comment without me having to moderate for ages. Secondly, I rarely log into this blog. Infact today, I just logged in by chance.
I hope I have figured out how to stop moderation so everyone can comment freely.
