The Fight: Part II
Sweetie:Hey, Pendo! Did you have a good time with Jack yesterday?
Pendo: Which Jack, my cousin?
Sweetie: Oh, come on, Pendo. You don’t have to pretend…
She grabs me and kisses me on the lips.
Pendo: I think I should go now, Chris.
Sweetie: (with an exaggerated sweetness in her tone) Oh, no! Please, do not go away on my account
Me: Shall we go in and have a drink?
Sweetie: Chris, let’s not force Pendo to join us if she doesn’t want to… (she winds her arms around me and kisses me)
Pendo: Hmmm!
Sweetie: Oh, dear. Looks like someone is cross.
Pendo: No, Sweetie. I just love the way you two are making out in front of me.
Sweetie: Well, dear. What do you expect? He is my boyfriend.
Pendo: I hope this time you will be serious. Seeing as you were so quick to dump Chris’ brother.
Sweetie (Moving towards Pendo) What did you just say?
Pendo (looking at Sweetie directly into her eyes): Don’t tell me you are now deaf?
Sweetie: The problem with you is that you always go out with other people’s men. You snatched Jack from Nankya and now you want to do the same with me.
At this point, I had to stop Pendo from hitting Sweetie hard on the face.
Me: Enough, ladies. Please.
Pendo: Its fine, Chris. She’s not worth my time. Enjoy your ****
Before I could do anything to stop them, they were at each other’s necks fighting and hurling insults at each other. My neighbours came out of their houses one by one to watch as I sneaked into my house.
